Biorevitalization in Dubai
Injectables - explained

Biorevitalization in Dubai: what the injections do, how many sessions you need and how it differs from skin boosters

Dubai skin has a specific problem. Outside there is 40 degree heat and intense UV, inside there is cold, dry air-conditioned air, and the face moves between the two several times a day. The result is dull, tired skin even with a good routine, because water is not staying in the dermis.

Biorevitalization returns hyaluronic acid to the layer where creams cannot reach.
More about the procedure

What biorevitalization actually is

Biorevitalization is a series of superficial microinjections of non-crosslinked (non-stabilized) hyaluronic acid into the dermis. The word "non-crosslinked" matters. In a dermal filler, hyaluronic acid molecules are chemically bound to each other so the gel holds shape and volume for a year or more. In biorevitalization the hyaluronic acid is left in its natural, unbound form: it does not add volume and does not change facial contours. Instead it spreads through the dermis as a thin, water-binding layer.

Two things happen once it is there. Each molecule holds many times its own weight in water, so the dermis rehydrates from the inside. And the injected hyaluronic acid together with the microtrauma of the needle signals fibroblasts, the cells that produce collagen and elastin. By data from a 2023 systematic review of 13 studies, hyaluronic acid monotherapy consistently improved hydration, firmness and elasticity, with over 95 percent of participants satisfied.

The free hyaluronic acid itself is broken down within days to a few weeks. What stays is the response: denser dermis, better water retention, smoother texture. Hence "revitalizing" rather than "filling".

What the evidence shows

The numbers are fairly consistent across trials:
  • A 2024 multicenter randomized trial with 448 adults compared three full-face sessions (baseline, day 28, day 56) with no treatment. Hydration was significantly higher at every follow-up, elasticity improved from day 63, and about 90 percent of the treated group showed at least moderate improvement versus under 10 percent of controls.
  • A double-blind split-face study against saline (three sessions, three weeks apart) recorded a 35 percent rise in hydration on the treated side versus a 10 percent drop on the saline side, a 10 percent reduction in crow’s feet depth and a 27 percent gain in firmness.
  • A 2023 open-label study found skin capacitance, an instrument measure of hydration, rose by 43.7 percent after three sessions.
  • A 2025 meta-analysis confirmed a significant effect on hydration and radiance but was more cautious on elasticity, where the pooled result did not reach significance; long-term data remain limited.
Honest summary: hydration and radiance are well supported, texture and fine lines improve in most studies, elasticity in many but not all, and no study has tracked results beyond about a year.

Biorevitalization vs skin boosters vs mesotherapy

The three terms are used loosely in Dubai clinic marketing, and clients often book one expecting another. The differences are real:
Skin boosters use stabilized hyaluronic acid that degrades more slowly: longer hydration from fewer sessions, but a weaker stimulating signal per session and a small risk of visible bumps if placed too superficially. Mesotherapy cocktails work more on nutrition and radiance; in the review above, cocktail formulations showed mixed results, with two of five studies finding no significant change. Biorevitalization sits between them: more pure hyaluronic acid than mesotherapy, without the persistence of a stabilized gel.

At SOLAR the choice is made at consultation after looking at the skin, not from a menu. Details of the injectable options are on the injectable cosmetology page.

Why Dubai skin needs it more

Research on ambient humidity shows that low-humidity, air-conditioned environments reduce stratum corneum water content, decrease elasticity and increase roughness. In Dubai the air conditioning runs nearly all year. Add hard tap water, which leaves mineral residue on the skin barrier, and intense UV for eight months of the year, and you have skin that is chronically dehydrated regardless of age.

Topical hyaluronic acid does not fix this: the molecule is too large to pass through the epidermis, so serums hydrate the surface only. Biorevitalization delivers it to the dermis, where the water deficit actually is.

Seasonality matters too. The best time for a course is the cooler season from October to April: less sweating, less UV, easier compliance with the "no direct sun for a few days" rule. Many residents time a course to finish before summer.

How the course is built

A standard protocol is three to five sessions, two to four weeks apart. This is not a marketing number: the trials above used three sessions at three to four week intervals, and elasticity in the randomized trial only became significant after the second session.

Each session takes 30−40 minutes. The face is cleaned and numbing cream applied; the doctor then makes a grid of microinjections with a very fine needle, roughly a centimetre apart, across the face, neck, decollete or hands. Small papules are visible for a few hours, sometimes until the next morning.

After the course, maintenance is one to two sessions every six to twelve months; Dubai clients often need the shorter interval because of the climate load.

Skin preparation matters. A HydraFacial one to two weeks before the first session clears dead cells and surface congestion so the papules settle faster and the skin responds more evenly. We compared HydraFacial with conventional cleansing in this article.

What to expect and what to avoid

The first visible change is usually radiance and a "plumped" feel within three to seven days of the first session. Texture and fine line changes build over four to eight weeks and are clearest after the full course.

Typical side effects are mild and short: redness, papules for a few hours to two days, occasional small bruises fading within a week. Serious complications are rare with superficial intradermal technique, but they exist for any injectable, which is why a physician who knows facial anatomy should do it.

For 24−48 hours after each session: no makeup on the day, no sauna, steam, pool or intense workout, no direct sun. SPF 50 daily throughout the course is not optional in Dubai.

Contraindications include pregnancy and breastfeeding, active skin infection or inflammation in the area, autoimmune conditions in an active phase, blood clotting disorders and known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid. Chronic conditions and medications are discussed at consultation.

What biorevitalization will not do

It does not lift, fill deep folds or replace volume. For sagging, the conversation moves to Ultraformer MPT or RF microneedling; for pigmentation, to photorejuvenation. Biorevitalization is often sequenced with these, because hydrated dermis responds better to energy-based procedures.

Cost depends on the zone and the number of sessions in the course and is confirmed at consultation.
