What SMAS lifting is and why it works
SMAS (Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System) is the musculo-aponeurotic framework of the face that plastic surgeons tighten during a full facelift. It is the weakening of this layer with age that leads to a "blurred" jawline, jowls and drooping corners of the mouth. SMAS lifting on the Ultraformer MPT acts on this same framework with high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), without damaging the skin surface.
Ultrasound creates thermal coagulation points (TCP) in the tissue at strictly defined depths - 1.5, 2.0, 3.0 and 4.5 mm. The body perceives them as a signal to renew and launches neocollagenesis - the production of new type I collagen and tissue remodeling. As a result the skin becomes firmer, the facial contour tightens and the contour becomes sharper - naturally and gradually, without a “stretched mask” effect.

Double chin
In a study of 30 patients aged 25−60, a single HIFU procedure with 4.5 and 6.0 mm cartridges in MP mode significantly reduced the submental fat layer (CR-SMFRS): the share of a "small layer" grew from 10 to 16 people, and a "very thick layer" shrank from 2 to 1. A light lift is visible right away.
Skin quality and glow
In a study of HIFU combined with a topical agent (glutathione + hyaluronic acid), fine wrinkles decreased from 6.25 to 3.10 mm, hyperpigmentation from 3.50 to 2.10, and hydration rose from 28 to 55 after the course. With no complications.

Ultraformer MPT acts on the same musculo-aponeurotic layer (SMAS) as a surgeon, but does so with focused ultrasound through the skin - without incisions, anesthesia or recovery. The result is softer and shorter-lived than surgery, but without the risks and downtime. It’s a way to postpone surgery for years.
A light lifting effect is noticeable right away due to tissue contraction. The main result develops gradually over 8−12 weeks as new collagen is produced.
In most cases one procedure a year is enough. According to clinical data, after a single session more than 80% of patients reported a pronounced improvement (p<0.000005). The doctor will tailor the frequency to your skin.
There is no recovery period. Brief redness, slight swelling or sensitivity are possible and pass within a few hours or days. You can return to work and your usual activities right away.
