HydraFacial or a Regular Facial: Which Works Better

A mechanical facial traumatises the skin; HydraFacial is a vacuum-based, atraumatic treatment. We explain how the vortex technology differs from a classic facial and why the skin glows immediately afterwards.

"Facial" is a broad word for very different treatments. A classic mechanical facial is traumatic and needs recovery time. HydraFacial works more gently: a special vortex technology cleanses, exfoliates and hydrates the skin with serums all at once — without any squeezing.
More about the procedure

How HydraFacial works

At its heart is vortex technology. The handpiece creates a swirl of fluid that:
  1. softens and flushes out the contents of the pores (rather than squeezing them);
  2. exfoliates dead cells with an acid peel;
  3. simultaneously delivers hydrating and antioxidant serums.
The skin is cleansed and instantly saturated with actives — hence the immediate glow with no redness.

Who it suits

  • Dull, dehydrated skin — both "for an occasion" and on a regular basis.
  • Enlarged pores and blackheads without pronounced inflammation.
  • A first step before LED/photodynamic therapy or a course of treatments.
  • Sensitive skin for which a traumatic facial is not advisable.

At SOLAR, HydraFacial is performed on a certified medical device

How often to have it

To maintain the result — roughly every 3–4 weeks. A one-off treatment is a great way to refresh the skin before an important day.
