Laser Tattoo Removal in Dubai (Sobha Hartland) - a Realistic Plan, Not a Promise

Laser tattoo removal breaks the ink into particles small enough for your body to carry away. It works on black and coloured tattoos and on old faded work. We start with a doctor's consultation (200 AED, free if you have a treatment the same day), where you hear an honest number of sessions and an honest answer about what your skin can realistically reach.

What laser tattoo removal is

A laser sends very short, high-energy pulses into the skin.
The ink particles absorb that energy, heat up and shatter; the surrounding skin, which does not absorb the same wavelength, is left largely untouched. Over the following weeks your immune system removes the fragments, and the tattoo fades. That is why tattoo laser treatment is always a course: each session removes a share of the pigment, not all of it.
/ 01
The laser targets the pigment, not the skin
Different wavelengths are absorbed by different ink colours, which is why the settings change from tattoo to tattoo and sometimes within one tattoo.
/ 02
Your body does the removal
The laser only fragments the ink. The fading you see between visits is your lymphatic system clearing those fragments, and it takes weeks.
/ 03
The tattoo fades in layers
Amateur tattoos with shallow, sparse ink usually clear faster than dense professional work with layered colour.

What you get

Why laser remains the standard method for tattoo removal.
/ 01
No cutting, no scars by design
Unlike excision or dermabrasion, the laser works through intact skin. The surface is briefly whitened and swollen, then it heals.
/ 02
Selective by colour
Settings are matched to the ink you actually have, so black, blue and green respond on their own terms rather than all at once.
/ 03
Old and faded work too
Faded amateur tattoos and older pieces are treated as well, and they often need fewer sessions than fresh professional ink.
/ 04
A plan you can check
You are told the expected number of sessions, the interval and the realistic end point before the first pulse, not after the fourth payment.

Tattoo removal is a course, not a session

This is the part most clinics keep quiet about. We would rather you hear it before you pay for anything.
/ 01
How many sessions and why
A typical tattoo needs 5 to 10 sessions, sometimes more. Each pass fragments only the pigment the laser can reach; the layer underneath becomes reachable once the top one is cleared. Nobody can promise a clean result in one visit, and a clinic that does is selling you the first session, not the outcome.
/ 02
Colour and ink density decide the pace
Black pigment absorbs almost every wavelength and leaves the fastest. Blue and green are slower. Red, yellow, white and pastel shades are the hardest, and white ink can darken instead of fading. Complete removal without a trace is not always achievable - the honest answer is sometimes significant lightening, not disappearance.
/ 03
Intervals of 6-8 weeks, and why they cannot be shortened
The fading happens between visits, not during them. Your lymphatic system needs those weeks to clear the fragmented ink, and the skin needs them to recover fully. Coming back sooner does not speed anything up and raises the risk of blistering, prolonged redness and changes in skin tone.
/ 04
Sun protection between sessions, critical in Dubai
The treated area must stay covered and out of direct sun, with SPF 50 reapplied through the day. Tanned or sun-irritated skin changes how it absorbs the laser, forces us to lower the settings or postpone the session, and increases the risk of pigmentation.

What the research says

Laser tattoo removal is a well-studied method with decades of clinical use behind it.
Nano vs pico
Comparative studies
Controlled comparisons of Q-switched nanosecond lasers and newer picosecond systems report that both clear tattoo ink effectively, with picosecond devices generally reaching a comparable result in fewer sessions for some colours. The difference is in the number of visits rather than in whether removal is possible.
Colour
Clearance studies
Prospective series consistently find black and dark blue ink clearing fastest, green and red slower, and complete clearance not achieved in every case, with the number of sessions varying widely by tattoo type, ink density and skin phototype.
Safety
Reviews of adverse effects
Reviews describe most side effects as temporary (redness, swelling, blistering, crusting) and identify sun exposure, incorrect settings and short intervals as the main factors behind pigment changes and textural scarring.
The studies refer to the method (laser tattoo removal), not to a specific clinic. Results are individual and depend on the ink, its depth and age, and your skin type.

Step by step

/ 01
Doctor's consultation - 200 AED, free with a same-day treatment
We examine the tattoo, ask who made it and when, check the ink colours and your skin phototype, and give an honest estimate of sessions and of the realistic end result. A 3D Skin Test Janus III diagnostic is available if a fuller picture of your skin is needed.
/ 02
Plan and settings
The expected number of sessions, the interval between them and the price are agreed with you before anything is booked.
/ 03
The session
Cooling, then the laser passes. 15-30 minutes depending on the size. You feel short, sharp snaps; anaesthetic cream or cooling is used for larger or sensitive areas.
/ 04
Healing and the next visit
The area is covered and cared for at home; you come back in 6-8 weeks, and we compare photographs to adjust the settings.
Good to know: no sauna, pool or sunbathing until the skin has fully healed, and SPF 50 on the area for the entire course.

How much does tattoo removal cost in Dubai?

At SOLAR in Dubai the price of laser tattoo removal is set individually. Because removal is a course, the tattoo removal cost that matters is the cost of the whole plan, and we name it at the doctor's consultation (200 AED, free if you have a treatment the same day), before you book anything.

  • Small tattoo. A name, a symbol, a small line drawing.
  • Larger tattoo. A forearm piece, a shoulder, a dense black area.
  • Course of sessions. A plan for a tattoo that clearly needs a full course.

What changes the price

  • Size and ink density: a dense filled area takes more of the session than an outline of the same width.
  • Colours: black clears fastest; green, red and pastel shades need more sessions and therefore more budget.
  • Age and depth of the tattoo: old, faded amateur work usually needs fewer sessions than fresh professional ink.
  • Session by session or a course: a planned course is normally more economical than paying for each visit separately.

There are no hidden extras: the doctor's consultation is 200 AED (free if you have a treatment the same day), the number of sessions is estimated honestly in advance, and you are told when further sessions will no longer add much.

Tattoo removal near you

The clinic is in Sobha Hartland, Mohammed Bin Rashid City - 220 m from the bus stop and with free parking, so it is an easy drive from most of central Dubai:

Sobha Hartland - on site · Business Bay - ~10 min · Downtown Dubai - ~12 min · Dubai Creek Harbour - ~12 min · Meydan - ~8 min · Ras Al Khor - ~10 min · Al Jaddaf - ~10 min

Clients travelling from Abu Dhabi usually plan sessions around the 6-8 week interval, so a course means a handful of visits spread across the year rather than a weekly trip. Message us on WhatsApp and we will suggest a time that fits your route.

When the effect shows

/ 01
First days
The area is whitened, swollen and sometimes crusted. This is the expected reaction, not the result.
/ 02
6-8 weeks
The real fading of that session becomes visible as your body clears the fragmented ink. We photograph the area at each visit so you see the change against the previous stage, not against memory.
/ 03
After the course
Most tattoos become dramatically lighter or disappear; some, especially coloured or dense ones, reach significant lightening rather than complete removal. We tell you when the next session is unlikely to add much instead of selling it.
